16 May 2006 » Autometric 2.2 is now available. This very slightly improved version keeps absolute pixel lengths constant at different magnifications. I haven't tested it very thoroughly, so 2.1 is still available and I encourage bug reporting.

AutoMetric is a program you can use to easily measure 2D:4D and hand FA. What are those, you ask? If you don't know, you probably aren't interested in this program, but 2D:4D is the ratio of the lengths of the second and fourth digits (pointer and ring fingers). This length is sexually dimorphic (women tend to have equal finger lengths, while men tend to have longer ring fingers) and has been reported to predict everthing from facial masculinity to heart disease.

I have made major improvements in this program, but please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. You need QuickTime installed on your computer to view images in this program.
